Since we had our furnace cleaned we have been having problems. We are constantly having to push the reset button and let air out of the fuel line. The pressure in the boiler does not seem to stay right. Our oil tank is underground. When my husband went out to put the fule back into the tank he noticed that when he went back to the furnace that the pressure gauges were back to the right settings. Some of his friends are telling him that a loss of prime may be occuring and that there might be a hole in one of the lines causing a loss of air pressure. I hate opening the valve and reseting the furnace constantly, it makes me very nervous but there is nothing else I can do until we find out what the problem is. Can anyone tell me if they have encountered the same problem. I know that there could be numerous reasons for this occuring. What I need to know is what they could be. Please help!!

Could be that when the filter was changed there is now an air leak. Call them back and have them check it. Underground tanks are really a bad idea now a days.

It was an air leak. The rubber seal was not put back on right. At first though they tried to say that it might be the box but my husband was the one to figure out that there might be an air leak. Thanks for answering. You really know your heating equipment. :ro
