Is it possible to replace the box alone on a model PV73SL?  I bought a house and the previous owner left water in the burner, it froze and cracked.  Can I get the blue box used?  Is it worth it?  Otherwise the system is in good shape, it's only 5 years old.  Please advise.  Thanks

Are you talking about the indepence gas boiler? If the boiler cracked your best bet is to just replace it. Sorry but their is no really easy way out :(

Thanks heaterman.  Is the V8 series the newer version of the PV73SL, and would this save me any time in doing a swap-out?

V8 is an oil fired boiler, You should really contact your contractor and get an estimate so you know what your looking at for material and price and then work off of that.
